Growing Together, Celebrating Together
18/06/2026Every morning in Kanungu District, Uganda, children wake up with one goal: to go to school. They put on uniforms that may be worn out, pack a few books, and step outside filled with hope. Their faces show determination. Their hearts carry dreams of becoming teachers, doctors, engineers, leaders in this community.
But that walk to school is where the journey ends for many of them.
Instead of joining their classmates, a large number of children in Kanungu are sent back or remain at home. Not because they don’t want to learn, but because their parents cannot afford school fees. Teachers and school administrations have bills to pay, and families struggling with poverty simply cannot raise that money. And so, what should be a school day becomes another day at home.
When a child stays home from school, it’s not just one day lost. It’s a future delayed. Girls become more vulnerable to early marriage. Boys are pushed into hard labor. The cycle of poverty continues into the next generation. These children are not lazy. They are not unwilling to learn. They are simply locked out by fees they cannot afford.

The photos above show the reality. Children at their homes, with no books and no classroom to go to. Children with potential, watching other days pass by, waiting for a chance to learn.
But there is still hope. Education remains the most powerful tool we have to break poverty. When a child stays in school, the whole community benefits. We get more skilled people, more leaders, and more individuals who can give back to Kanungu.
That is why we are making this appeal to sponsors and all well-wishers. Your support can pay school fees so a child can walk into class and stay there. It can provide scholastic materials like books, pens, and uniforms. It can keep children in school until they complete their education. Every contribution matters.
You can donate through our sister organization, Helping Hands for Vulnerable Children to help sponsor a child’s education and long-term future.
