WOOVC at Work in the Community!
September 12, 2023
WOOVC donors have provided individual rechargeable/solar lights to each of the sponsored children for use during breaks.
Both primary and secondary school students in Uganda break off three times a year (over four months’ period) – into a world of chores, especially taking care of the gardens and other daytime tasks. It’s the evening hours which can provide the much needed and most appropriate study time. However, without electricity available in their villages, this is next to impossible.
Providing light to chase away the darkness solves many problems. Most importantly, these students are now able to do homework or study anytime at night as one way of enabling them to chase their dreams.
Most of us take lighting for granted but for these children, even a small, portable light is a life-changer.
