School Visitation Day at Brian Giant Primary
June 29, 2025This month, WOOVC celebrated a historic milestone as Ezra, a talented young man from our program, became our first university student!
His achievement demonstrates the transformative power of education – the same power that inspires our new Project Manager in her work with vulnerable children.

“I see myself in Ezra and every child WOOVC serves”– Amutuhaire Evalyne, WOOVC’s New Project Manager
For Evalyne, Ezra’s story resonates deeply. She understands firsthand how education can change lives, having faced her own challenges pursuing an education after high school when her family’s financial situation became difficult. Thanks to her sister’s support, she was able to study midwifery, discovering her passion for helping mothers and bringing new life into the world.
Her six years working with refugees showed her the vital importance of community-based initiatives, particularly for underserved children. Now joining WOOVC, she brings this experience and personal understanding to help more children access opportunities – just as Ezra has done.
The connection runs even deeper. Her husband, Dr. Jonathan, completed medical school with support from Tom and Prudy Nelson, whose belief in paying forward opportunities aligns perfectly with WOOVC’s mission. This personal history strengthens her commitment to helping WOOVC grow and support more future doctors, engineers and nurses.
Ezra’s enrollment at Kabale University marks an exciting new chapter for both him and WOOVC. With Evalyne now leading our programs, we look forward to helping many more children follow in Ezra’s footsteps – proving that with education and support, they can achieve their dreams and uplift their communities.
Join us in celebrating Evalyne’s arrival and Ezra’s university achievement.
Support our mission to help more students reach their dreams.
