The Christmas and End-Of-Year Party!
January 15, 2024During the break between 2nd & 3rd term, some of WOOVC’S primary, secondary and vocational students assisted one of the elderly grandmothers (mukaaka) Katini Jacinta, in Kabuga in taking care of her garden (weeding).
She was deeply grateful and excited for the students who helped her. The students knew the challenges that she is going through. Katini Jacinta is elderly and disabled and lacks the ability to do the work that requires manual labor. With no money to hire casual workers to help, she is entirely without the resources to get the work done. So WOOVC students stepped in to help.
We believe it’s very important that these students appreciate the power of compassion and charity in the modern era where there is great inequality in the distribution of opportunities. They are experiencing the empowerment that comes from compassion and need to do their part to pass it along.
We are glad our students were available to help!
