Rain Water Harvesting Project – Safe water for Rural Homes!
May 10, 2024We are very excited to announce that 9 new orphaned children joined our Education program this academic year 2024 and have all been enrolled into new boarding primary and secondary schools this first term of the school year. We maintain our focus on education for exceptionally brilliant orphans enabling them to access the best schools with a complete support system. Our team is guided by a well thought selection system and the team looks at hundreds of needy orphans to come up with the exceptional ones; Our target this year is 15 new children into the program. Many thanks to relentless love and support from our partners ‘Helping Hands for Vulnerable Children (HHVC)’ for making hard earned resources available for the children and the education program and for the continued extra-ordinary support to WOOVC
The stories of the new children into the program and many more orphans in our communities are difficult to tell; its rather very sobering to pause for a minute and recognize that, there are many children around us without access to even the most basic services. Orphans in our communities face daily battles for survival; without a parent to give them guidance, they are more likely to do poorly at school, or drop out. Without a family to care for them, they suffer from; lack of attention, disease and malnutrition; and without protection, they suffer mistreatment, violence, and exploitation
Most of us, when honest with ourselves, will acknowledge that our lives were shaped, at some point, by someone who took the time and effort to pour something into our lives. This might have been a parent, family member, teacher, friend, well-wisher, community leader, etc. The orphans and vulnerable children supported by the program and those we seek to help are not typically afforded this luxury.
We are focused on seeing these precious children cared for, loved, educated, and set on a path for a hope-filled future that will bring about a change for the next generation in our communities and beyond; We are choosing to start with the children in front of us, we hope you can find interest in joining hands with us. With your help, we can see MORE than JUST ONE of these children become teachers, doctors, modern farmers, pilots, scientists, and future leaders.
We now introduce to you; Holly 6, Peruth 11, Saviour 11, Yvonne 11, Martin 15, Shadia 13, Linnet 10, Alicai 11, Derrick 14.
Brilliant kids given an opportunity of their lives on the path to transforming families and communities.
