August 14, 2023
Yay! It’s the last term of the school year!
September 21, 2023WOOVC was invited to participate in the 1 st Annual Advocacy Meeting Against HIV organized by the Kanungu PFA (People Living with AIDS) Forum on 4 September 2023. The main objectives of the meeting were to discuss the findings of the community-led monitoring approach, solutions to the challenges being faced by AIDS patients, as well as sharing more insights on community-led monitoring as an approach to curb HIV/AIDS in rural Uganda, particularly Kanungu District.
In 2021, 790.000 children were orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Uganda. Besides the emotional torture these orphans go through, these young innocents are not assured of school attendance as they have no one to pay their school fees. They have the potential to become pillars of their communities – they just need emotional and financial support.
WOOVC is working to meet those needs with incredible assistance from Helping Hands for Vulnerable Children, a US-based charitable organization.
